FBI – Forgiven – Review : No Forgiveness Given

FBI – Forgiven – Review : No Forgiveness Given

This week’s episode of FBI was an incredibly emotionally heavy episode and that is massively shown by the fact that the only rest-bite in this episode happens right at the start with Maggie and OA discussing his dating life. Once Erin’s name was mentioned there was not a moment in the episode that wasn’t tense and heavy.
First of all hats off to Missy Peregrym for the incredible performance she displayed in this episode. I love when we get a character focussed episode and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. I also like the fact that this episode welded together a past case (or multiple past cases) but also something that isn’t just going to be focussed on in this episode, this will literally change the Maggie that we know.
I did miss the presence of Scola and Eva in this episode and I do think it would have added some complexity to the story, given the different relationships that Maggie has with them. However nothing can compare to the connection that OA and Maggie have and I loved that we got to see OA being protective of Maggie and not caring in the slightest about the hierarchy of the FBI.
“Think what Maggie would do if it was me” was one of the best lines in this episode. We’ve seen Maggie and OA save each other’s lives multiple times but this time seemed different. We rarely ever get to see Maggie show her vulnerable side but it was on full display, and especially so when she was hanging off the branch unable to grab OA’s hand.
It was such a whiplash from being relieved that OA had saved Maggie and they were both lying on the edge of the cliff, to them seeing Peter at the back of the van with Erin in. The scream that Maggie did was so gut wrenching, Ray was right. This is a scar that she is going to remember forever.
The title of this episode really did throw me off the scent of what may happen because there definitely was no forgiveness and may never be any forgiveness given.
This was a remarkable episode and I am very intrigued to see where this will land Maggie in the next few episodes!
