A deadly confrontation, mounting political pressure, and a race to uncover the truth take center stage in the next episode of CBS’s Boston Blue. Promotional photos have been released for Season 2, Episode 3, titled “Fire in the Hole,” airing Friday, October 23.

The episode begins with violent shootout at a subway station that leaves a detective critically injured, setting off an intense investigation that quickly becomes more complicated than anyone anticipated. Danny and Lena find themselves racing against the clock to piece together what really happened, but with public scrutiny intensifying and political tensions rising, uncovering the truth may prove easier said than done.

As the investigation unfolds, Sean and Jonah take on a crucial assignment of their own: locating a young witness whose testimony could change everything. With so much riding on what this witness knows, their search could become a turning point in the case. Meanwhile, Sarah finds herself increasingly at odds with Chief Lanigan over how the investigation should proceed.

For Sean, the episode also brings a more personal struggle. As he confronts the impact that police work can have on the people closest to him, the emotional consequences of the job become impossible to ignore.

Boston Blue, “Fire in the Hole,” airs Friday, October 23, from 10:00–11:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. The episode will also be available to stream on Paramount+, live and on demand for eligible subscribers, and the following day for Paramount+ Essential subscribers.
