The network, under the Disney umbrella, is bringing back “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” “Will Trent,” and the freshman comedy “Shifting Gears.” These renewals will push “9-1-1” into its ninth season, “Grey’s Anatomy” into a staggering 22nd, “The Rookie” to Season 8, “Will Trent” to its fourth outing, and “Shifting Gears” into its second.
These pickups join the previously renewed “High Potential” and fan-favorite “Abbott Elementary.” At this point, the only remaining show in ABC’s current lineup still waiting on a decision is “Doctor Odyssey.” Meanwhile, ABC isn’t ordering any pilots this season but is going all-in on a straight-to-series order for the upcoming “9-1-1” spinoff, “9-1-1: Nashville,” with Chris O’Donnell set to take center stage.
